Venezuelan municipalities revamp local sports venues

The Maracaibo city hall, led by mayor Gian Carlo Di Martino, handed over a refurbished multi‑use sports court named Fernando García in the Altos del Sol Amado IV neighbourhood. The renovation added new paint, cleared overgrown areas, installed boards and supplied basketball, futsal and volleyball equipment, allowing children and youths to resume organised play.

In the neighbouring municipality of Amancio, local authorities have also restored several sports facilities in recent months, highlighted by the refurbishment of the Gilberto Ferrales stadium. Both projects are presented as part of municipal efforts to promote recreation and improve community life in Venezuela.
