Venezuelan NGOs launch ‘Pulso Venezuela’ platform

Four Venezuelan non-governmental organizations have launched a joint web platform called ‘Pulso Venezuela’ to document and disseminate information regarding the country’s human rights, justice, disinformation, and higher education sectors. The coalition includes Acceso a la Justicia, Observatorio Venezolano de Fake News, Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón (JEP), and Observatorio de Universidades.

According to organizers, the portal aims to counter an ‘information blockade’ and state-driven opacity in Venezuela. Martha Tineo, coordinator of JEP, described the platform as a technical response to the institutional encirclement and criminalization of human rights defenders. The organizations intend to use the gathered data to report violations to international mechanisms and diplomatic representations to encourage the restoration of human rights.

Representatives from Acceso a la Justicia noted that structural issues, including a lack of accountability and the absence of the rule of law, persist in the country. Additionally, the platform is designed to combat ongoing waves of disinformation that masquerade as legitimate news.
