Venezuelan officials launch work table to sustain tourism at Morrocoy National Park

Minister of Ecosocialism Nelsón Rodríguez González, Minister of Tourism Daniela Cabello and Falcón Governor Víctor Clark convened a work table with tourism service providers to secure visitor access to Morrocoy National Park. The forum seeks methods and alternatives to guarantee park visits, keep the park open this season and protect the income of communities that depend on tourism.

Participants highlighted the damage to the Punta Brava bridge, a key vehicular access point, and pledged inspections and repairs by the Ministry of Transport, INPARQUES and the Coast Guard. Training on good practices and sustainable management has already begun for providers, following guidance from President Delcy Rodríguez during her April visit. Yumeli Dumont of CONPPA said the table will also evaluate promotion strategies for the Punta Brava and Suanchez tourism sectors. The ministries announced preventive measures after a magnitude 4.5 earthquake the night before, aiming to maintain continuous tourism activity and support the local economy.
