Venezuelan pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez reaches 100 MLB wins

Left‑handed Venezuelan pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez recorded his 100th career victory in Major League Baseball while starting for the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. He worked seven innings, allowing one run on a solo home run, six hits and striking out five batters. The win moved him to a 6‑2 record on the season and improved his career line to 250 games started, a 2.45 ERA this year and a 3.81 ERA in his best 2019 season.

Rodríguez became the ninth Venezuelan pitcher to reach the 100‑win milestone, joining Félix Hernández, Freddy García, Johan Santana, Carlos Zambrano, Aníbal Sánchez, Carlos Carrasco, Wilson Álvarez and Kelvim Escobar. He signed a four‑year, $80 million contract with Arizona in 2024, which runs through the 2027 season. At 33, he remains eligible for free agency after the contract expires.
