Venezuelan PNB arrests fraud ring and dismisses officers after corruption videos

Police officials from the Policía Nacional Bolivariana (PNB) in the state of Anzoátegui arrested three suspects operating a commercial outlet called "Emprendimiento Frank Acero". The venue was used as a front to produce forged credentials resembling those of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and to print counterfeit US 100‑dollar bills. During the raid, authorities seized two fake PDVSA IDs, six counterfeit $100 notes, computers, printers, mobile phones and several envelopes containing personal documents.

In the neighboring state of Barinas, three PNB traffic officers were removed from duty after a video circulated on social media showing them demanding 20 dollars from a driver to allow his passage. The incident prompted an administrative investigation by the Inspectoría de Control de la Actuación Policial, and the officers were referred to the Ministerio Público for possible criminal prosecution.
