Venezuelan police arrest criminals at Táchira border and in Maracaibo

Authorities of Venezuela's International Police (Interpol) captured Hilario José Fuenmayor Bracho, a 39‑year‑old wanted on a red notice for association to commit crimes, arms trafficking and homicide, on the Atanasio Girardot bridge in the Táchira border region. He faces multiple capture orders issued by the Zulia state court.

In a separate operation, the Bolivarian Police of Zulia detained Gustavo Adolfo Márquez Márquez, 52, in Maracaibo for conducting illegal raffles on Instagram that claimed proceeds would aid families affected by recent earthquakes. Police seized promotional flyers, a cellphone used for the scheme, and the suspect was turned over to the public prosecutor.

Both arrests illustrate ongoing Venezuelan law‑enforcement efforts against organized crime and fraud.
