Venezuelan police purge and anti‑smuggling raid ordered by Diosdado Cabello
Vice‑president Diosdado Cabello announced that the Venezuelan National Police (CPNB) dismissed 22,000 officers for irregular conduct, emphasizing strict discipline and a permanent monitoring process. He also noted a rise in enrollment at the National Experimental University of Security, now serving 32,000 students training for police, fire and civil protection roles.
In a related operation in the state of Apure, CPNB forces dismantled a clandestine logistics camp, seizing and destroying two aircraft and four large drums of suspected illicit aviation fuel. The raid, conducted under Cabello’s security directives, targeted networks involved in the trafficking of illegal substances and was reported as part of the Territorial Defense System’s efforts to protect national sovereignty.
