Venezuelan police seize over a ton of cocaine, arrest traffickers
A 52‑year‑old man from Tucupita was intercepted by military personnel at Valencia's Arturo Michelena International Airport while attempting to board an international flight to Brazil. A special inspection revealed 91 intra‑organic packets containing about 1,130 kg of cocaine, which were expelled and seized. The case is being forwarded to the public prosecutor.
In a separate operation in the Falcón state, two men aged 36 and 23 were stopped on the Morón‑Coro highway near Taratara. A routine traffic stop uncovered a bag with approximately 521 g of marijuana, along with cash and a phone. The suspects, identified as residents of Coro, were taken into custody and the evidence handed over to the Ministry of Public Prosecutor.
Both incidents are being investigated under Venezuela's anti‑drug legislation.
