Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro issues message of faith and unity

On Sunday, June 7, President Nicolás Maduro used his Telegram channel to address Venezuelans and the international community. Citing passages from the First Epistle of John, he called for faith, solidarity, communal action and hope, urging citizens to “live in community and peace” and to let “faith become action” that opens new paths for transformation. The message was signed by Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, and included a biblical appeal for joy and gratitude.

Maduro also reminded audiences of his upcoming appearance before a U.S. federal court in Manhattan on June 30, where he and Flores are slated to face charges related to alleged narcoterrorism and cocaine trafficking.

The communication reflects the president’s continued use of religious rhetoric in public statements and signals his intent to maintain a narrative of spiritual unity amid ongoing legal challenges.
