Venezuelan regional athletes prepare for national basketball and gymnastics championships

Various Venezuelan regional delegations are preparing for upcoming national sports competitions.

Yaracuy’s U16 male and female basketball teams are traveling to Barinas for a national championship starting this Friday. The female team will compete in the second division, while the male team enters the third division. Both squads consist of 12 players selected from the state's regional junior super league. While transportation is being provided by Fundey, the basketball association and families are self-managing lodging and food costs.

Meanwhile, a delegation of 54 gymnasts from Táchira is traveling to Mérida to participate in the National Interclub Artistic Gymnastics Championship. The group includes athletes from several clubs, such as Andinitos and El Tamá, competing in the junior and senior categories. This event is part of a broader national gymnastics calendar that includes upcoming rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline competitions in Barquisimeto.
