Venezuelan relief effort targets 50+ tons of aid for earthquake victims

Singer Omar Enrique reported that a public collection in Caracas had gathered more than 50 tonnes of relief supplies—including potable water, non‑perishable food, hygiene items, chairs and mattresses—to be handed over to the Ministry of Commerce for distribution at the La Carlota collection centre.

The University of Los Andes (ULA) in the Táchira region coordinated the dispatch of 61 trucks carrying clothing, food and medicines donated by students, private companies and Colombian contributors. The convoy, overseen by university and church officials, was cleared by civil‑protection authorities and is delivering the aid to Caracas to assist victims of the recent earthquakes.
