Venezuelan shortstop Orlando Arcia signs with Diablos Rojos del México
Venezuelan infielder Orlando Arcia, 32, declared free agency in June after being designated for assignment by the Minnesota Twins. On Monday the Diablos Rojos del México announced his signing for the remainder of the 2026 season in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol. Arcia arrives with 11 MLB seasons, 1,032 games played, a .240 career batting average, 138 doubles, eight triples, 91 home runs, 349 RBIs and a 3.8 bWAR. He was part of the 2021 World Series‑winning Atlanta Braves and earned an All‑Star selection in 2023.
In his limited 2026 MLB stint he appeared in 19 games for the Twins, posting a .271 average with 13 hits, six runs, two RBIs and one home run. The Diablos Rojos, a South Division team currently positioned for a postseason run, said Arcia will strengthen their infield defense and add veteran experience as they close out the regular season.
