Venezuelan States Guárico and Sucre Launch Infrastructure Repair and Safety Initiatives

The government of Guárico state began an emergency repair of a road edge failure on the Troncal 002 highway in the Pueblo Nuevo sector of San Juan de Los Morros. Governor Donald Donaire announced that heavy machinery and technical staff have been deployed, urging drivers to reduce speed and heed traffic signs while work is underway. He said, "Continuamos trabajando sin descanso, con el corazón puesto en cada rincón de nuestro estado, para asegurar que nuestras vías sean transitables y seguras."

In Sucre state, Governor Jhoanna Carrillo created a Commission for Infrastructure Evaluation to carry out technical diagnostics of public and private buildings after recent seismic activity. The multidisciplinary team, which includes engineers and municipal officials, will inspect schools, hospitals, residential and commercial structures, register families displaced by the quakes, and implement training programs on earthquake preparedness in schools.
