Venezuelan teachers call for nationwide march on October 13

The Venezuelan Teachers Federation (FVM) has announced a nationwide march scheduled for October 13 to protest labor conditions and demand economic concessions. Carmen Teresa Márquez, president of the FVM, stated that the demonstration will be peaceful and focused on union and professional grievances rather than political agendas.

Protesters plan to gather at 9:00 a.m. at the Ipasme building in Caracas and march toward the Miraflores Palace. The federation is demanding the payment of professionalization bonuses to all workers, including retirees and pensioners, as well as the discussion of collective bargaining agreements and a review of salary scales.

The FVM is joining forces with health and university workers to demand that the government address the needs of the working class and engage in meaningful discussions regarding labor contracts.
