Venezuelan UNES expels four students over whisky‑brand video

The Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad (UNES) expelled four Barinas‑campus students after a video posted on social media showed them brandishing a bottle of whisky while wearing the university uniform and uttering obscene remarks. The rector, Favio Zavarse, announced the “immediate and irrevocable” expulsions, stating the students committed “grave offenses against morality, internal regulations and institutional honor.”

The expelled students – Jesús Esteban Pereira, Clemens Anthony López, David Jesús Uribe and Luis Alberto Rodríguez – were identified as enrolled in the criminology and criminal investigation programmes. The disciplinary board cited violations of article 92 of UNES’s internal code. UNES reaffirmed its commitment to ethics, discipline, human‑rights respect and the formation of future members of the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas (CICPC).
