Venezuelan wanted by Argentina arrested in Colombia during joint police‑migration raid
A 44‑year‑old Venezuelan citizen was detained by Colombian authorities in Bucaramanga after a joint operation between Migración Colombia and the Police Metropolitana of Bucaramanga. The arrest occurred on a public‑service bus traveling the Cúcuta‑Medellín route when officials identified a valid Interpol Red Notice issued by an Argentine court for alleged computer‑fraud offenses. The suspect was transferred to Migración Colombia facilities, where the Red Notice was confirmed as originating from the Juzgado de Garantías N.º 1 of the San Martín Judicial Department in Argentina. He remains in custody pending further legal procedures. Police sub‑commander Harvey Augusto Silva said the operation “demonstrates coordinated action to strengthen migratory controls and international cooperation in locating persons required by justice.”
