Venezuela's Carabobo Power Plant Repairs Accelerated After Double Earthquake

Venezuelan authorities led by Vice President for Public Works Juan José Ramírez began technical inspections at the Planta Centro thermal power plant in Carabobo. Engineers from the state utility Corpoelec and specialists from China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) examined the damaged seawater discharge canal wall and the rehabilitation progress of Unit 6, which was severely affected by a recent double earthquake.

The joint working group reviewed physical repair milestones and set a timetable to restart the generator as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the Force of Shock units continue permanent work in the affected zones to restore the plant’s electricity‑generation capacity and support the national grid.
