Venezuela's March for Jesus gathers hundreds as Catholic mass gatherings reach millions worldwide

Hundreds of believers participated in the March for Jesus across Venezuela on Saturday, marching through Zulia’s cities of Maracaibo and San Francisco and through Carabobo’s Valencia. The events featured collective prayers, music performances and humanitarian aid collections for earthquake victims in La Guaira, under the slogan “Venezuela, Tierra de Gracia.”

A separate feature ranks the ten most attended Catholic gatherings in recent history, noting that the 2025 celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico City attracted an estimated 12.8 million pilgrims, while the 2015 Papal Mass of Pope Francis in Manila’s Rizal Park drew 6–7 million attendees. Other large events include the 1995 World Youth Day in Manila and the 2026 Nazareno Negro procession in the Philippines, each drawing several million participants.
