Venezuela's Minpesca holds meetings with blue crab producers in Zulia

The Venezuelan Ministry of People's Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture (Minpesca) has launched a series of working sessions in Zulia state to strengthen the blue crab production chain. Led by Minister Juan Carlos Loyo, the initiative aims to consolidate sustainable fishing management and address critical sector needs.

The agenda included assemblies with fishing communities in Valmore Rodríguez and La Cañada de Urdaneta to discuss fair pricing, export certifications, fuel access, and financing for artisanal fishers. Additionally, ministerial teams held strategic meetings with 23 major blue crab suppliers and 22 representatives from processing plants to optimize the value chain and ensure efficient, transparent production.
