Venezuelan SAIME launches nationwide ID data verification campaign

The Servicio Administrativo de Identificación, Migración y Extranjería (SAIME) has opened a national campaign to verify and update the personal data of Venezuelan citizens whose identity cards bear numbers from 22 million onward. The service is free, requires no prior appointment, and is available at all SAIME offices across the country. Applicants must present a legible copy of their birth certificate (for native‑born citizens) or the naturalization certificate or official gazette (for naturalized citizens).

In addition, SAIME is promoting its digital platform, enabling users to perform a range of procedures—from data certification and passport applications for minors to migration‑related documents—directly from smartphones or the agency’s website. The digital tools aim to reduce queues, cut travel costs, and streamline future transactions such as passport or ID issuance.

The verification drive, announced on June 30 2025, is intended to keep the agency’s records current and prevent complications in future administrative procedures.
