Venezuela's Saime launches online passport applications for minors and updates fees

The Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (Saime) in Venezuela has enabled children and adolescents with a national ID to create user accounts and initiate passport applications through its digital platform. The system automatically identifies applicants under 18, but parents or legal guardians must supervise the process, authorize the online request and schedule the required in‑person appointment.

Saime also publishes the cost of passports, which varies by age and by ordinary or express service. Ordinary passports cost $108 for ages 0‑2, $162 for ages 3‑17, and $216 for adults. Express passports cost $290 for ages 0‑2, $310 for ages 3‑17, and $350 for adults. Prices are also quoted in bolívares according to the daily rate set by the Central Bank of Venezuela. Payments are accepted only via debit cards from national banks through Saime’s website; cash payments are not allowed.
