Venezuela's Saime reopens Caracas offices after June earthquakes

The Servicio Administrativo de Identificación, Migración y Extranjería (Saime) resumed limited in‑person services in the Greater Caracas area from 6 to 10 July 2026. Operating hours are set from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (extended to 4:00 p.m. for some locations). Selected offices in the Capital District and Miranda state—including San Bernardino, Boleíta and Plaza Las Américas—were reactivated, with additional offices to be opened progressively.

The emergency reopening follows the national decree issued by interim President Delcy Rodríguez after the 24 June earthquakes. Saime will process identity‑card renewals, first‑time ID issuance for children aged nine and older, passport applications, and foreign‑national documentation. Applicants without an active office can call the toll‑free line 0‑800‑SAIME‑00 (0‑800‑72463‑00) for assistance.
