Venezuela's Sport Ministry delivers gear for 2026 'Venezuela Renace' Games

Vice Minister of Mass Sports Juan Carlos Amarante handed over 59 sets of sports equipment – 23 for La Guaira, 21 for Caracas and 15 for Miranda – on behalf of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sport. The gear will be used in the "Juegos Deportivos Venezuela Renace 2026", scheduled from 29 July to 20 September in temporary camps across Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira. The games aim to provide recreation, integration and entertainment for families still coping with the twin earthquakes that struck on 24 June.

The delivery was made under the authority of acting President Delcy Rodríguez and Sport Minister Franklin Cardillo. Officials such as Wilmer Rívas of the Miranda Regional Institute of Sports, Harold Ramos of the Caracas Municipal Institute of Sport and Juan Montes of the La Guaira High‑Performance Directorate highlighted the joint effort and the role of sport in mitigating the disaster’s social impact. More than 2,600 children have registered to take part in the competition.
