Venga crypto platform secures MiCA license in Spain
Spain’s securities regulator, the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV), has granted Venga, a Barcelona‑based crypto‑asset service platform, a licence under the EU Markets in Crypto‑Assets (MiCA) framework. Venga becomes the 15th Spanish firm and one of about 244 EU firms to obtain the authorisation before the MiCA transitional deadline of 1 July 2026. The licence allows Venga to operate across the European Union under a single regulatory regime.
Co‑founder and CEO Michael Stroev said the approval reflects two years of work to meet MiCA’s extensive requirements on governance, capital, operational resilience, cyber‑security and customer protection. He noted that the licence is not a one‑off permit but entails continuous supervision, periodic reporting and audits. With the authorisation, Venga plans to expand its services beyond Spain to other EU markets, offering investors a regulated alternative in the crypto sector.
