Venice AI reaches top crypto AI market cap rankings
Venice AI, a privacy-focused generative AI platform founded by ShapeShift creator Erik Voorhees, has become one of the largest projects in the crypto AI sector by market capitalization. Its native VVV token, which launched on the Base blockchain in January 2025, recently reached a record high near $34, bringing the platform’s market cap to between $1.5 billion and $1.66 billion.
The VVV token functions as a utility for compute access rather than company equity. Users can stake VVV to gain access to Venice Pro features, including unlimited text prompts and various media models. Additionally, stakers can mint DIEM, a token representing daily API credits. To manage supply, Venice has implemented tokenomics updates, including reducing annual VVV emissions and launching an API-credit burn mechanism.
Venice AI reports over 4 million users and an annualized revenue run-rate exceeding $100 million, processing approximately 250 billion tokens daily. The company previously secured $65 million in Series A funding led by Dragonfly and Coinbase Ventures. A recent strategic integration with the Circle Agent Marketplace now allows for USDC-settled AI services.
