Venice Biennale hosts 61st edition under theme In Minor Keys

The 61st Venice Biennale is currently underway in Venice, serving as a major global platform for contemporary art. Since its inception in 1895, the event has connected art with themes of history, culture, loss, war, and collective human memory.

This year’s theme, ‘In Minor Keys’, invites a more subtle and attentive form of listening amidst the increasing noise of the modern world. The exhibition is primarily hosted across two main areas: the national pavilions in the Giardini and the historic spaces of the Arsenale, with additional exhibitions spread throughout the city.

Artists from diverse geographical backgrounds and disciplines are utilizing various mediums, including large-scale installations, small figures, video, sound, and live performances. The works explore shared global concerns, ranging from the traces of war to personal memory and the concept of silence, translating individual experiences into universal narratives.
