Venice Biennale hosts contemporary art and music festivals

Venice is hosting major contemporary cultural events, including the 19th edition of Contemporary Venice and the 70th edition of Biennale Musica.

Contemporary Venice, scheduled for October 16–30, 2026, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, will run alongside the 61st Venice Biennale of Art. The exhibition explores the relationship between the body and inhabited spaces through two sections: ‘Mixing Identities’ and ‘Future Landscapes.’ Featured artists include Bardia Mehdinejad, Antonella Camisassi, Leonardo Glauso, and Pati Avakian.

Simultaneously, the 70th Biennale Musica is taking place at the Arsenale. Under the artistic direction of Caterina Barbieri, the festival features electronic experimentation and installations. Recent highlights include the ‘Heaven is Ours / O Céu é Nosso’ hot air balloon installation and a premiere by electronic artist Laraji at the Teatro alle Tese.
