Venice delegation concludes mission in Shanghai and Suzhou

A four-day institutional and industrial mission led by Mayor Simone Venturini has concluded in Shanghai and Suzhou, marking the first official mission of the Venice system in China. The delegation focused on integrating cultural, academic, and economic sectors to establish a unified territorial platform for cooperation.

A primary outcome of the mission was the inauguration of the Fudan-Venice Hub for Dialogue between Civilizations at Fudan University in Shanghai. This academic center, established through an agreement between Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Fudan University, will serve as a stable platform for research in cultural heritage, management, tourism, and environmental sciences.

Cultural exchanges were highlighted by the debut of Teatro La Fenice at the new Shanghai Grand Opera House. Additionally, the mission included discussions regarding industrial collaborations, robotics, and the enhancement of transport infrastructure, specifically focusing on port and airport connectivity and logistics between the two regions.
