Venice Film Festival 2026: Full program and key highlights announced

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to take place at the Lido from September 2 to September 12, 2026. Organized by La Biennale di Venezia, the event will feature a diverse selection of films in competition and out of competition.

Key highlights include the official opening film, “Ink” by Danny Boyle, and the presentation of a career Golden Lion to George Clooney. Other notable films in competition include “Company” by Casey Affleck, “Bucking Fastard” by Werner Herzog, and “Wild Horse Nine” by Martin McDonagh. Nanni Moretti will also return to the competition with “Succederà questa notte”.

The festival schedule includes various special events, such as a documentary on the Oasis reunion and a tribute to filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who will receive the “Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award”. The festival will conclude on September 12 with the official announcement of the winners, preceded by the screening of the Italian comedy “Dio ride” by Giovanni Veronesi.
