Venice Film Festival features Italian cinema and Werner Herzog

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival features a strong presence of Italian and international cinema across various sections. In the Orizzonti section, four Italian films have been selected: ‘La ragazza con la Leica’ by Alina Marazzi, which serves as the section opener; ‘La città dei vivi’ by Edoardo Gabbriellini; ‘I figli della scimmia’ by Tommaso Landucci; and ‘Una storia’ by Anna Foglietta.

‘La ragazza con la Leica’ depicts the life of Gerda Taro, a pioneering female photojournalist, set in 1937 Paris. Meanwhile, Echo Group is bringing six titles to the festival, including Werner Herzog’s return to fiction with ‘Bucking Fastard’, starring Kate and Rooney Mara. Other notable entries include Cédric Kahn’s ‘15/18 (A Place to Heal)’ and Stéphane Brizé’s ‘Un bon petit soldat’, featuring Alba Rohrwacher and Vincent Lindon.
