Venice Film Festival features Nino Rota documentary and Gianni Amelio film
The 83rd Venice International Film Festival features several notable films in its ‘Out of Competition’ section.
Walter Fasano’s documentary, ‘Nino - Un film su Nino Rota’, will be presented on September 11. The film explores the life and musical legacy of Nino Rota, the legendary composer and the first Italian to win an Academy Award for Best Original Score. The documentary utilizes archival materials and interviews with figures such as director Park Chan-Wook and composer Alexandre Desplat to trace Rota’s work with iconic directors like Federico Fellini and Luchino Visconti.
Additionally, Gianni Amelio’s film ‘Nessun dolore’ is set to screen at the festival. The story follows Davide, a solitary man living in Rome, whose life is transformed after he becomes involved with a North African child and a pregnant Algerian woman. The film explores themes of solidarity and justice as the protagonist opens his home to those in need.
