Venice Film Festival showcases new psychological thrillers

The 83rd Venice Film Festival features new psychological thrillers exploring themes of digital vulnerability and obsession.

Directed by Fabio Nardi and Poli Kirya, ‘Breached’ examines the fragility of personal data and the blurring lines between real and digital identities. The film, produced by Giuliano Mozzato, portrays the risks of hyper-connectivity and the loss of control over encoded personal information.

Paolo Strippoli’s ‘L’estranea’ is also in competition, utilizing horror and thriller elements to explore family dynamics, love, and the fear of loss. Starring Jasmine Trinca and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, the film follows a mother who makes a mysterious pact to protect her daughter, dealing with the long-term consequences of that decision.
