Venice Glass Week celebrates 10th anniversary in Murano
The 10th edition of The Venice Glass Week is scheduled to take place from September 12 to 20, 2026, across Venice, Murano, and Mestre. The international festival features 236 events in 140 locations, involving 311 participants and applications from 57 countries. The program includes 111 exhibitions, 45 inaugurations, 27 conferences, 19 workshops, and 16 demonstrations.
Key highlights include ‘Murano Illumina il Mondo’, which will display twelve unique artist chandeliers at the Procuratie Vecchie in Piazza San Marco. The event also features dedicated hubs for established artists over 35 at Palazzo Morosini and emerging artists under 35 at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa. Awards such as the Fondazione di Venezia prize and a residency at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York will also be presented.
Economic data from Banca Ifis indicates that the Murano glass district is a significant industrial sector, generating approximately 288 million euros in total value. The district comprises 160 companies employing over 900 people, with a combined turnover of nearly 180 million euros, representing a 72% increase since 2015.
