Venice hosts international labor and sustainability festival

The first international festival of labor and industrial relations, titled ‘Work and Sustainability’, is being held on October 15 and 16 at The Human Safety Net Hall in Piazza San Marco, Venice. Organized by Ca’ Foscari University, the Lavoro&Welfare association, and the International Labour Organization (ILO), the event focuses on the intersection of social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

The program brings together universities, social partners, businesses, and international organizations to discuss topics including job quality, training, corporate welfare, safety, technological innovation, and industrial relations. The festival serves as a platform for in-depth study and comparison between research and institutions rather than a traditional job fair or recruitment event.

The discussions are particularly relevant to the Northeast region of Italy, covering sectors such as manufacturing, services, tourism, logistics, and agri-food to address competitiveness and community resilience.
