Venice International Film Festival 2026 to feature 20 competing films

The 83rd Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to take place at the Lido from September 2 to 12, 2026. The competition features 20 films vying for the Golden Lion, with a jury presided over by Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Notable films in the competition include Florian Zeller’s ‘Bunker’, a psychological drama starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem; Casey Affleck’s ‘Company’, a gothic horror film; and Martin McDonagh’s ‘Wild Horse Nine’, featuring an ensemble cast including John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell.

Local hospitality venues, such as the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice, are preparing for the event with themed offerings, including special cocktail menus at the Skyline Rooftop Bar and dedicated spa treatments designed for festival attendees.
