Venice lagoon cruising via the SS La Venezia

The SS La Venezia, a river ship operated by Uniworld, offers seven day voyages through the Venetian lagoon. It is one of only two ships permitted to navigate these waters, the other being the Michelangelo.

The cruise explores the Venice archipelago, which consists of approximately 126 islands connected by 472 bridges. The itinerary reaches the outer MOSE gates, which manage flooding from the Adriatic Sea, and the southern fishing village of Chioggia. The lagoon covers roughly 500 square kilometres, with land making up only about 1 per cent of the total area.
