VMRO-DPMNE accuses SDSM and DUI of politicizing North Macedonia's judiciary

The opposition party VMRO-DPMNE has accused the ruling SDSM and DUI coalition of politicizing the Macedonian judiciary to protect high-ranking officials and their associates. The party claims the justice system has become a bastion for the ruling parties, citing a low public trust level of 2%.

VMRO-DPMNE specifically alleged that judicial figures such as Vesna Dameva, Dobrila Katsarska, Nakce Georgiev, and Vilma Ruskovska were installed or promoted during the SDSM-DUI tenure to serve partisan interests. The opposition argues that this system provides immunity to figures like Venko Filipce and Zoran Zaev while aggressively pursuing minor offenses by others.

In response, SDSM's Venko Filipce has criticized VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, claiming his popularity is declining and that he gained power through deception. Mickoski has maintained that VMRO-DPMNE remains committed to democracy and an independent Macedonia.
