Venko Filipçe calls for fuel tax cuts in North Macedonia

Venko Filipçe, leader of the LSDM, has called on the government to implement concrete measures to lower fuel prices. His proposal includes reducing the Value Added Tax (VAT) to 5% and removing excise duties on derivatives.

Filipçe stated that these actions could lower fuel prices by 15 to 20 denars, providing much-needed relief to citizens. He expressed concern regarding the upcoming winter, noting that heating costs have already increased and predicting a difficult season for the population. Following a meeting with pensioners in the Karposh municipality of Skopje, Filipçe criticized the government for failing to listen to appeals for tax relief despite claims of having the lowest fuel prices in the region.
