Venko Filipče claims warnings on foreign influence were accurate

SDSM President Venko Filipče has claimed that the party’s previous warnings regarding foreign influence in North Macedonia have been validated. During a media appearance, Filipče asserted that the SDSM was the first to highlight the extent of Serbian and Hungarian influence within the country.

Filipče specifically addressed concerns regarding a Hungarian credit, alleging it serves as a vehicle for Chinese capital. He stated that one billion euros have been spent through this mechanism, leaving future generations to repay the debt, and noted that Hungary has opened an investigation into the matter.

Furthermore, Filipče criticized the current government's relationship with Serbia, citing the glorification of Ratko Mladić by a government minister as evidence of an anti-European stance. He also raised concerns regarding media control, alleging that the Prime Minister controls the media landscape and that Hungarian-owned outlets and unregistered Serbian media operate within the country.
