Venâncio Aires leads Rio Grande do Sul avocado production

Venâncio Aires has become the leading municipality in avocado production within the state of Rio Grande do Sul for 2025. According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the municipality produced 600 tons, marking a 167.9% increase compared to the 224 tons recorded in 2024.

This growth places Venâncio Aires ahead of Roca Sales, which produced 538 tons, and Cachoeira do Sul, with 150 tons. The municipality achieved an average yield of 30,000 kilograms per hectare across 20 hectares, with a total production value of R$ 1.785 million.

On a national scale, IBGE reports that Brazil produced 503,627 tons of avocados in 2025, with a total production value of R$ 1.43 billion. In Rio Grande do Sul, the total value of avocado production reached R$ 13.38 million.
