Venstre falls to record low of 5.8 percent in Voxmeter poll

The Danish political party Venstre has reached a record low in a recent Voxmeter poll, dropping to 5.8 percent of the vote. This represents a decline from 7.0 percent the previous week and follows the party's previous low of 10.1 percent in the March general election.

The decline is attributed to internal friction following the passage of a fertilizer law. The legislation, which establishes nitrogen emission quotas for Danish farmers, caused significant division within the party. Five of Venstre's 18 members of Parliament—Søren Gade, Amanda Heitmann, Anni Matthiesen, Preben Bang Henriksen, and Peter Juel-Jensen—voted against the party line.

Political spokesperson Sophie Løhde acknowledged the results, stating that the party has dealt with internal unrest and that voters are punishing the internal disputes. In the current polling for the blue bloc, Venstre is now the fifth-largest party, trailing Dansk Folkeparti, which leads with 14.1 percent, and Liberal Alliance at 10.8 percent.
