Italy implements employment funds and urban reforestation initiatives
In Emilia-Romagna, the Province of Rimini has introduced a 2-million-euro regional fund to support employment in mountainous and internal areas. The initiative aims to combat depopulation by providing incentives of up to 15,000 euros for companies that create stable jobs in 132 municipalities, including eleven in the Rimini province such as San Leo and Novafeltria.
Simultaneously, the RiforestAzione project, promoted by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) with support from Axpo Italia and Pulsee Luce e Gas, has concluded its national tour in Milan. This initiative, part of the PNRR green transition mission, focuses on urban and extra-urban greenery. The program has utilized 210 million euros to support 13 metropolitan cities. In the Milan metropolitan area alone, over 62,000 plants have been involved in reforestation efforts across 19 municipalities to improve biodiversity and climate resilience.
