Ventos e Mar Festival promotes tuna industry in Areia Branca
The Ventos e Mar Festival in the Costa Branca region of Rio Grande do Norte focused on promoting tuna, a key economic and cultural product of the municipality of Areia Branca. Supported by Sebrae-RN, the gastronomic event brought together eight local restaurants to strengthen small businesses and regional cuisine.
Participants received technical consultancy from chef Jonatã Canella, an ambassador for the ‘Feito Potiguar’ movement, to create dishes centered on tuna. The competition was won by Victor Oliveira, owner of Rasta Stick Burger, for his dish ‘Atum do Farol’, which combines seared tuna with regional ingredients such as cashew, pineapple, and cassava chips.
According to Sebrae-RN technical analyst Lecy Gadelha, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to develop the ‘Blue Economy’ in the Costa Branca region by qualifying local products and services and fostering regional potential.
