Ventosa to inaugurate ‘Carmen’ monumental sculpture

The town of Ventosa will inaugurate ‘Carmen’, a monumental sculpture created by the artistic team Divergente, at the Espacio Arte y Naturaleza. The project was developed throughout the summer through a collective process involving local residents, pilgrims, and visitors.

Based on the winning concept ‘Anciana naturaleza’—selected via public vote—the sculpture features a female figure symbolizing the connection between nature, memory, wisdom, and territory. The piece is constructed primarily from local materials, including branches from Ventosa's forests, holm oak from responsible forest cleaning, and reclaimed wood from the local timber industry.

The inauguration event includes a visit to the ‘1 kilómetro de Arte’ exhibition, the unveiling of the sculpture, and musical performances by the group VIVACE.
