Venture capital activity shows growth in October
Venture capital fundraising maintained an accelerated pace in October, according to recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings. Established firms are attracting significant investments, particularly in specialized sectors such as artificial intelligence and highly regulated industries.
Notable milestones include Diffusion ONE, led by former Benchmark partners, which raised $1.252 billion for its debut fund, exceeding its initial $800 million target. Additionally, Joe Lonsdale’s firm 8VC has begun seeking new investment vehicles, including a $400 million fund and a structure dedicated to artificial intelligence.
The secondary market has also gained strategic importance, with Industry Ventures raising $1.7 billion. Analysts note that participation in high-profile companies like Anthropic and OpenAI has become a highly contested asset within the current venture capital ecosystem as firms position themselves for potential near-term exits and returns.
In the Spanish market, the startup Niubiq closed an early funding round involving Angels Capital, Elephant, and the Órbita investment club. Niubiq, a Castellón-based company founded in 2025, provides conversation intelligence software designed to analyze sales interactions to optimize commercial processes.
