Venture capital and Inova Startups program support business scaling
Venture capital serves as a primary mechanism for startups to scale operations, allowing them to hire professionals, develop technology, and enter new markets in exchange for equity. Unlike traditional bank loans, venture capital involves investors becoming partners, with returns tied to the company's increased valuation and future sale potential.
In Brazil, the Inova Startups program, developed by Sebrae/SC, offers up to R$ 800,000 in investment to businesses with scaling potential. The sixth edition of the program is currently accepting applications from startups across all sectors and Brazilian states until November 30.
The program combines financial support with a training track including mentorships, workshops, and networking opportunities. In the first phase, up to 25 companies can be selected for investments of up to R$ 300,000, followed by a second phase of individual mentorship focused on business growth.
