Venture Training provides 50 bluebird nest boxes in North Okanagan

Venture Training staff and clients constructed 50 bluebird nest boxes to meet specifications from the North American Bluebird Society. The boxes were delivered to the North Okanagan Naturalists’ Club (NONC) for its bluebird monitoring program and will be placed across grasslands and hills surrounding the Greater Vernon area. NONC maintains 18 nest‑box trails that are monitored by more than 40 volunteers from late March through early August each year. The boxes are produced every two to three years under the direction of Garth, the club’s community support worker, and a dedicated team. The delivery coincides with NONC’s 75th anniversary, with president Eric Kowalski noting the club’s “advocacy and volunteer activities in support of natural history, and our association with local organizations like Venture Training.”
