VEON and JazzWorld reaffirm digital investment plans in Pakistan

VEON and its subsidiary JazzWorld have reaffirmed their commitment to investing in Pakistan’s digital and telecommunications infrastructure. During a meeting with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Chairman Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, leadership from both companies discussed digital growth, service quality, and the regulatory environment.

VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioğlu identified Pakistan as a “strategic growth market” for the group. The companies noted that recent spectrum awards and 5G licensing processes have allowed JazzWorld to accelerate its network expansion. JazzWorld has already established over 1,000 live 5G sites and aims to reach more than 2,500 sites by the end of 2026.

JazzWorld, which serves over 71 million subscribers, intends to focus on translating 4G and 5G investments into improved service quality and digital inclusion. Executives emphasized that sustaining this progress will require continued investment and supportive policies to ensure a healthy and sustainable telecom sector as the country progresses with its 5G rollout.
