Vera Health raises $28.5 million in Series A funding
Vera Health, a clinical artificial intelligence search platform, has secured $28.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Threshold Ventures. The round included participation from Optum Ventures, Mantis VC, and SV Angel, with existing investors Y Combinator and Gradient also increasing their backing. This brings the company's total funding to $32 million.
The platform is designed to assist clinicians by searching over 60 million peer-reviewed biomedical publications, clinical guidelines, and drug labels. Unlike generic AI assistants, Vera Health retrieves and evaluates supporting evidence before generating responses, linking claims to specific sources and color-coding them to indicate the strength of the available evidence. This approach is intended to make the limitations of medical research visible to physicians.
Co-founded by Maxime Allouch and Taieb Bennani, the company has grown to serve more than 800,000 clinicians across 190 countries. The new capital is earmarked for expanding its evidence-based technology, strengthening infrastructure, and supporting international growth.
