Vera Lúcia announces candidacy for São Paulo governorship

Vera Lúcia, a co-founder of the Unified Socialist Workers Party (PSTU), has announced her candidacy for the governorship of São Paulo in the 2026 elections. This marks her first run for the state executive office.

Originally from Pernambuco and having spent much of her political life in Sergipe, Lúcia has a history of running for various offices, including the Presidency of the Republic in 2018 and 2022, as well as several campaigns for the mayoralty of Aracaju and São Paulo.
